Main characteristics

The insecticidal acaricidal BlochNet max destroys larvae and fully mature ticks of various families, blood-sucking insects, and midges. The drug is characterized by excellent repellent properties, and its high therapeutic activity is due to the introduction of a unique complex consisting of different components:

— fipronil blocks the parasite and paralyzes the neuromuscular system. The result is paralysis, inevitable death;

— benzyl benzoate accumulates in the body of the parasite, creating a lethal concentration;

— dimethyl phthalate remains on the surface of the animal’s skin and hair, repelling healthy individuals of blood-sucking insects.

The drops are included in the group of low-hazard therapeutic and prophylactic substances; they have a gentle effect on the organisms of warm-blooded animals and do not have any irritating or toxic negative effects.

Compound

BlochNet drops for dogs and cats contain several active ingredients – fipronil, benzyl benzoate, dimethyl phthalate. The same basic composition of the spray.

BlochNet drops and spray for cats and dogs

The main component is a modern broad-spectrum insecticide - fipronil. It belongs to substances of a low hazard class; at the permitted dosage, it does not harm the health of your pet. Penetrates into the body of fleas through contact, through food. It disrupts the functioning of the nervous system, blocks the transmission of impulses, provokes paralysis and death. Benzyl benzoate and dimethyl phthalate enhance the effect of fipronil.

Indications for use

The drug is necessary to protect against attacks by blood-sucking insects, carriers of all kinds of viruses and infections. It has been proven effective in protecting against the appearance of entomoses, lice, fleas, and lice on the animal’s body. Helps to recover from ear scabies (scientific name otodectosis). Used for preventive measures to protect against ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes.

Features of application depending on the dog’s body weight

Drops are used to treat the skin and hair of a dog, as part of a complex of preventive measures. The treatment is carried out once, the dose should be determined taking into account the pet’s body weight and is:

  • If the dog weighs less than 10 kg – 1 ml of the drug.
  • From 10 to 20 kg – 2 ml;
  • If body weight is between 20 and 30 kg, the dose of the drug is adjusted to 3 ml;
  • The animal weighs 30 – 40 kg – increase the volume to 4 ml.
  • For a dog weighing over 40 kg, use 5 ml of liquid and add 1 mg for every 1 kg of animal body weight.

Precautionary measures

Before carrying out the treatment procedure, read the rules of use:

  • If redness or itching appears on the skin, wash it off with warm water and soap;
  • wash your hands after fleaing;
  • for 2 days do not touch the animal, do not touch the fur with your hands;
  • During the procedure, it is prohibited to: drink, eat food, smoke;
  • Do not use empty containers of the drug fleanet for household purposes.

Blokhnet anti-flea drops should be discontinued in case of increased salivation, tears, vomiting, or irritation in pets.

Practical use

The procedure for treating the surface of animal skin and fur is as follows:

  • Spread the fur.
  • Apply the drug directly to the skin.
  • It is necessary to process at several points.
  • Select application sites so that the dog cannot lick the liquid (neck, back, between the shoulder blades, along the spine).

Duration of exposure:

Insect typeActive protection time
NastyFrom 5 days to 1 week
FleasOne and a half to two months
Other ecoparasitesAbout 1 month

It is recommended to repeat the procedure after a month (it should not be done more often). The death of parasites after applying the drug to the dog’s skin occurs no later than 24 hours. If you plan to use the product during the treatment of ear scabies, you must first clean the ear canals. You can use a cotton swab or swab moistened with the drug.

Continuing the treatment of otodectosis, it is necessary to inject 3-4 drops of the product into the shell of the ear. To maximize penetration of the liquid, fold your ear and massage it a little. This procedure will have to be performed twice, an interval of 7-10 days.

If the disease has been advanced, the main treatment can be repeated. To increase the effect and protect against otitis, the veterinarian prescribes antibacterial drugs and anti-inflammatory drugs.

It is convenient to cure a pet from a bite of a tick that has burrowed into the dog’s skin. To do this, apply one drop of the liquid substance directly to the parasite and wait 15-20 minutes. During this time, the ixodid tick should fall off on its own, due to the neutralization of the nervous system. If this does not happen, you need to use tweezers.

Mechanism of action

Different forms of the product - drops, sprays - have different mechanisms of action.

  • When drops are applied to the skin, the active components are quickly absorbed by the skin and distributed through the bloodstream over the entire surface of the skin. For the drug to start working, it takes 2 hours after application. Fleas are poisoned by feeding through the blood, as well as by touching the skin of the animal. Additionally, Flea Net drops repel parasites with a specific odor that is emitted by the animal’s skin after treatment.
  • Blokhnet spray acts superficially. After spraying onto the fur, it is distributed over the skin, but does not enter the bloodstream. Kills parasites upon contact with treated wool. Localized in hair follicles and sebaceous ducts.
  • BlochNet max for cats and dogs acts like a spray. The active components do not penetrate the bloodstream, concentrate in the sebaceous ducts, envelop the hair, and cover the skin.

On a note!

The effect of BlochNet lasts up to 2 months. If there is a strong threat of infection, it is recommended to re-treat the pet after a month.

Advantages and disadvantages

When following the instructions for use, the drug does not have a toxic effect on the pet’s body. It is not recommended to use only in case of individual intolerance. A recommendation for the use of BlochNet is given by a veterinarian, based on the results of clinical studies and external examination.

Fleanet drops for cats will rid your pets of parasites for a long time.

Adverse symptoms

Negative side effects from using BlochNet can occur for various reasons; you should not blame yourself for the symptoms. A common cause of their development is the animal’s hypersensitivity to one of the components of the drug. These side effects go away on their own within a few days.

The following physiological processes may be observed:

  • muscle tremors, trembling of the limbs or other areas appear;
  • the amount of tear secretions increases, there is excessive moisture in the eye area, which must be removed with napkins;
  • there is increased salivation;
  • sometimes the pet may lose its appetite, even its favorite food will remain in the bowl;
  • Severe negative symptoms include gag reflexes, nausea, irritation and rashes on the skin.

You should not be afraid of the above physiological processes, since they cannot lead to a serious deterioration in the pet’s condition. If profuse skin rashes are detected, the treatment area should be washed with copious amounts of warm water. The allergic reaction in this case is explained by excessive sensitivity, which requires a reduction in the drug dose or a change in drug.

A common cause of side symptoms is incorrect dosage on the part of the owner himself. If you follow the instructions and properly calculate the amount of the drug, no negative processes will occur in the animal’s body.

Storage conditions, expiration date

Fleanet for cats, according to the instructions, has a shelf life of two years from the date of its manufacture. After the expiration date, the beneficial properties lose their effect. The use of the drug in this case is strictly prohibited. It should be stored in a place where there is no direct exposure to sunlight and at a temperature ranging from 0 ° C to 25 ° C.

Blokhnet is a universal remedy for fighting parasites. It has good effectiveness and is safe for animals. When using, you must strictly follow the instructions.

general description

The medicine is available in two versions - drops and spray. Both forms are intended for external use. The composition contains toxic components, the ingestion of which can cause poisoning.

BlochNet drops are a light yellow oily liquid. Packaged in polymer bottles with a pipette attachment. They are equipped with a screw cap, making them more convenient to use compared to disposable pipettes. In pharmacies, BlochNet drops are sold in four different versions: 1, 2, 3 and 4 ml for dogs of different weight categories.

The spray is externally presented in the form of a transparent, colorless liquid. A light yellow tint may be present. For packaging, polymer bottles are used, which are equipped with a spray head for easy application.

When storing the drug, you need to follow a few simple rules:

  1. The air temperature should be positive, but not more than 25 degrees Celsius.
  2. The medicinal liquid should be placed away from food and feed, as it contains toxic substances.
  3. Do not allow direct sunlight to come into contact with the medication bottle.
  4. The drug should not be stored near heat sources.

Note! During transportation, short-term freezing of drops is allowed. This does not affect the properties and action of the antiparasitic agent.

Price and analogues of the drug

The cost of drops and spray of the drug “Blokhnet” differs significantly, and if in the first case you can purchase the medicine at a price of 60 rubles per ampoule, then in the second it will cost no less than 160 rubles. Some owners are not always willing to pay more and try to find more suitable options with a similar effect, but this is not always possible.

In this case, the most well-known analogues are the following drugs:

  1. “Bars” - from 200 rubles for 3 pipettes.
  2. "Hartz" - from 500 rubles for 3 pipettes.
  3. "Biafar" - from 600 rubles for 3 pipettes.
  4. "Frontline" - from 400 rubles per pipette.

Special shampoos, which can be used no earlier than a week after treating the animal with these drugs, will help to consolidate the effect of the drops or spray and increase the cat’s body’s resistance to parasites.

Rules for using Blokhnet drops

The drug is used for preventive purposes and to kill insects that infect domestic animals. Since the solution is quite toxic, it is necessary to adhere to a number of rules when using it.

These rules are as follows:

  1. Only the skin of the pet is treated with the solution. When applied to wool, the effectiveness of the insecticide is significantly reduced or completely absent. In addition, this risks getting the drug into the hands of children or into the digestive system of animals.
  2. Drops can only be applied to healthy skin of dogs and cats. If there is any damage to the epidermis, the active components can provoke erosion or penetrate the circulatory system, causing intoxication of the body.
  3. You can take your pet to an area infested with fleas, ticks and lice no earlier than two days after treating its skin with the solution. This is exactly how long it takes for its active components to spread throughout the epidermis.
  4. Do not bathe the animal in the first 3 days after treatment with Blochnet drops. Otherwise, the substances will be washed away, and the solution application procedure will have to be repeated.

The basis for achieving success is the exact choice of drug dosage. You cannot increase the dose in an effort to get the maximum effect, otherwise you may lose your pet due to intoxication. It is imperative to treat the animal's bedding, or even better, replace it.

How to apply drops

The solution is applied once exactly in the form in which it goes on sale. There is no need to dilute it with water or alcohol, or add any herbs or medications. This will lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of the drug.

In order to carry out the treatment of the animal quickly and efficiently, it is advisable to involve an assistant for this purpose, who will keep the pet motionless.

After the animal is secured, you need to part its fur and apply drops to the following places:

  • ears;
  • behind the ears;
  • on the back of the head;
  • between the shoulder blades.

If ticks are found on the body of a pet, then a drop of the solution is applied to the place where it is attached to the skin. As a rule, after 20-30 minutes the tick falls off. If this does not happen, then the parasite is carefully removed with tweezers or a thread loop.

When treating ear scabies, 2-3 drops are injected into each shell, preventing the solution from penetrating into the middle ear. To do this, the ears are carefully folded in height and lightly massaged. To get rid of otodectosis, it is necessary to treat both ears, even if the disease is detected in only one.

High quality and safety

BlochNet max effectively acts against external parasites at all stages of their development (eggs, larvae, adults). The drug destroys: fleas, lice, lice, larvae and adults of ixodid and sarcoptic ticks, has a repellent effect against blood-sucking mosquitoes.

BlochNet max has a long duration of protective action: against fleas – up to 2 months; from ixodid ticks, lice, lice – 1 month.

The results of the tests showed that the active ingredients of BlochNet max are non-toxic and do not cause allergies in animals.

Side effects after application

When the dose is correctly determined and the rules for applying the repellent are followed, the drug never shows a toxic effect on the pet. An exception may be cases of intolerance to any of the components of BlochNet or the development of allergies. With such disorders, the animal most often experiences local skin reactions in the form of itching, hyperemia and peeling of the upper layer of skin. To cure your pet, it is enough to wash off the substance from the fur and skin.

Attention! If washing off the drug does not give the desired result, the animal continues to suffer due to an allergic reaction, you need to contact a veterinarian and give your pet an antiallergic drug.

“BlochNet”, when correctly determining doses and following the rules of application, never shows a toxic effect on the pet

Instructions for the use of BlochNet spray to combat ectoparasites of dogs and cats (developer organization NVP Astrapharm LLC, Moscow)

I. General information Trade name of the medicinal product: Blohnet spray. International nonproprietary name: fipronil, benzyl benzoate, diethyltoluamide, 11-methoxy-3,7,11-trimethyl-2,4-trans-dodecadienoic acid isopropyl ester (synonym: juvemon).

Dosage form: solution for external use. BlochNet spray in 1 ml contains as active ingredients: fipronil - 5 mg, benzyl benzoate - 56 mg, diethyltoluamide - 60 mg, juvemon -1 mg and excipients: dimethyl sulfoxide - 5.7 mg, fragrance "Watermelon" - 8.1 mg , isopropyl alcohol - 500 mg and purified water - up to 1 ml. In appearance, the drug is a transparent, colorless or light yellow liquid with a slight specific odor.

BlochNet spray is produced packaged in 150 ml polymer or polyethylene bottles, with a sprayer that provides fine atomization.

Store BlochNet spray in the manufacturer's sealed packaging, in a place protected from direct sunlight and moisture, separately from food and feed, away from heating devices and fire sources, at a temperature of 0 to 25°C. The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of manufacture. BlochNet spray should not be used after the expiration date. BlochNet spray should be stored out of the reach of children. Unused drug is disposed of in accordance with legal requirements.

II. Pharmacological properties BlochNet spray belongs to the group of combined insectoacaricidal drugs. It has a pronounced insectoacaricidal effect against all phases of development of fleas, lice, lice, larvae and adults of ixodid and sarcoptic ticks that parasitize dogs and cats, as well as a repellent effect against blood-sucking mosquitoes.

The mechanism of action of fipronil, which is part of the drug, is to block GABA-dependent arthropod receptors, disrupt the transmission of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of ectoparasites. Benzyl benzoate, penetrating through the chitinous cover and accumulating in the body of ticks, has an acaricidal effect on the larvae and adults of parasites.

Juvemon, an analogue of natural juvenile hormones, causes anomalies in the development of insects at the egg and larval stages, preventing the appearance of mature insects on animals and in places where they are kept.

Diethyltoluamide has repellent properties, protecting animals from attacks by blood-sucking dipterous insects.

After treating the animal, the active components of the drug are evenly distributed over the surface of the body, accumulate in the fatty lubricant of the skin, epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands, and have a long-term contact effect, protecting the animal from ectoparasites.

In terms of the degree of impact on the body, BlochNet spray is classified as a low-hazard substance (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it does not have a skin-irritating or resorptive-toxic effect, and if it gets into the eyes it causes mild irritation. The drug is toxic to rabbits, as well as fish and other aquatic organisms.

III. How to use BlochNet spray is used for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes in dogs and cats with entomosis caused by fleas, lice and lice, infestation with ixodid ticks, as well as to prevent attacks of ectoparasites on animals.

A contraindication to the use of BlochNet spray is the animal’s individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug (including a history of it). The drug should not be used by patients with infectious diseases or convalescent animals, dogs weighing less than 2 kg, puppies under 10 weeks of age and kittens under 12 weeks of age. Auricular use of the drug (in the treatment of ear scabies) in case of perforation of the eardrum is not allowed. After surgery, it is recommended to use the drug no earlier than 3 weeks after removal of the sutures. Treatment of pregnant and lactating females, if necessary, is carried out after consultation with the attending veterinarian.

Animals are treated in the open air or in a well-ventilated room with open windows (vents), away from open fire, having previously removed cages with ornamental birds from the room and covered aquariums with fish. Small children must be removed from the premises.

To prevent licking of the drug, the animal is put on a muzzle, a cervical collar, or the jaws are secured with a loop of braid, which are removed after the skin and hair have completely dried.

When processing, hold the bottle vertically and, pressing the sprayer, direct the aerosol torch onto the surface to be treated from a distance of 25-30 cm against the growth of the hair. The drug is easy to dose: one click on the bottle sprayer corresponds to a dose of 1 ml of the drug.

To destroy lice, fleas, lice-eaters and prevent attacks on animals by ixodid ticks, spray the entire body of the animal against the fur, slightly moisturizing the fur (in animals of long-haired breeds, the fur is lifted by hand). Covering the animal's eyes, treat the ears and chest, and lightly rub the drug around the eyes and nose with the tips of your fingers (in gloves). The dose of the drug is 1 ml per 1 kg of animal weight. For long-haired dogs, it is allowed to increase the dose to 2 ml per 1 kg of animal weight.

The duration of the protective effect of BlochNet spray after treating the animal remains: against fleas - up to 2 months, against lice, lice and ticks - up to 1 month, against blood-sucking mosquitoes - up to 7 days.

To destroy ixodid ticks on the animal’s body, the drug is applied to the tick at the point of its attachment to the skin (one press on the spray head). If the tick does not fall off spontaneously within 20-30 minutes, it is carefully pulled out with tweezers and destroyed. Repeated treatments of animals against insects and ixodid ticks are carried out according to indications, but not more than once a month.

When animals are affected by sarcoptic mites (sarcoptosis, notoedrosis), the drug is applied to the affected areas of the body, previously cleared of scabs, covering borderline healthy skin up to 1 cm at the rate of 1 ml (one press of the sprayer) per 10 cm of the affected area of the animal's body. Treatment is carried out two to four times with an interval of 5-7 days until the animal’s clinical recovery, which is confirmed by two negative results of acarological studies. Animals with large affected areas are initially treated in two doses with an interval of 1 day, applying the drug to the affected areas of first one and then the other half of the body. Treatment of animals is recommended to be carried out comprehensively with the use of drugs for pathogenetic and symptomatic therapy. Until the fur is completely dry after treatment, animals should not be allowed to lick the preparation, nor should they be allowed near open fires or heating devices. Within 48 hours after treatment, the animal should not be washed or bathed in open water.

To treat otodectosis (an ear form of scabies), the external auditory canal is cleaned of scabs and crusts and then, directing the aerosol torch at the inner surface of the auricle, press the sprayer one or two times, then fold the auricle in half lengthwise and massage its base. The treatment is repeated 2-3 times with an interval of 5-7 days. Both ears must be treated, even if only one ear is affected by otodectosis. For otodectosis complicated by otitis, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs are prescribed. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated. Auricular use of the drug in case of perforation of the eardrum is not allowed.

In order to destroy ectoparasites indoors and prevent re-infestation of animals, bedding and blankets are treated with BlochNet spray at the rate of 30 ml per 1 m2 of treated surface (30 presses on the spray), kennels, cages, cracks in the floor, baseboards and animal care items - at the rate of 15 ml per 1 m2 of treated surface (15 clicks on the spray). After 1-2 hours, the room is ventilated for 30-60 minutes, and then the treated surfaces are cleaned with a vacuum cleaner. Repeated treatments, if necessary, are carried out according to indications, but not more than once a week.

In case of an overdose, the animal may experience lethargy, excessive salivation, muscle tremors, and vomiting. In this case, the drug is washed off with water and detergent and the animal is prescribed symptomatic therapy.

No specific effects of the drug during its first use and discontinuation were identified.

Violations of the drug use regimen should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. If the next treatment is missed, it is resumed in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.

When using the drug in accordance with these instructions, side effects and complications in animals, as a rule, are not observed. In case of increased individual sensitivity and the occurrence of allergic reactions, the drug should be washed off with water and detergent and the animal should be prescribed antihistamines and symptomatic therapy.

BlochNet spray should not be used in conjunction with other insecticidal and acaricidal agents for treating animals, including collars.

BlochNet spray is not intended for use on productive animals.

IV. Personal preventive measures Treatment of animals with BlochNet spray should be carried out using rubber gloves and a respirator (gauze bandage). Persons with signs of allergic, respiratory and skin diseases should not be allowed to work with the drug. Remove small children from the premises. While working with the drug, smoking, drinking and eating are not allowed. At the end of work, you should thoroughly wash your hands with warm water and soap, rinse your mouth with water, wash and dry your gloves. Within 24 hours after treatment, the animal should not be petted or allowed near small children. People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with BlochNet spray. If the drug accidentally comes into contact with the skin, it must be washed off immediately with soap and water; In case of contact with eyes, rinse them for several minutes with running water. If allergic reactions occur and/or if the drug accidentally enters the human body, you should immediately contact a medical facility (bring the instructions for use or label with you).

Empty bottles of the drug must not be used for household purposes; they are placed in a plastic bag and disposed of with household waste.

Contraindications and side effects

In most cases, any form of Blokhnet is well tolerated by pets, and the medicine does not cause any undesirable effects. However, this is only relevant in cases where the dosage was observed and the cat had no contraindications to such treatment.

Did you know? Among cats there are long-livers. The record in this regard belongs to the cat Lucy from Great Britain, who, at the time of recording in the Guinness Book of Records, in 2011, celebrated her 39th birthday.

In the latter case we are talking about the following pets:

  • weakened by illness or exhausted;
  • patients with infectious diseases, both in acute and chronic periods;
  • animals that have recently undergone surgery (use of the drug is possible no earlier than 3 weeks after the planned removal of sutures);
  • cats with hypersensitivity to individual components of the drug;
  • kittens under 12 weeks of age.

In addition, it is worth obtaining additional consultation from a veterinarian if your pet has previously experienced individual intolerance to other medications: the initial dosage may have to be halved. Exceeding the dosage specified by the manufacturer is fraught with the appearance of lethargy, apathy, muscle tremors and increased salivation in the animal.

Spraying pregnant and lactating cats is allowed only in extreme cases and with the approval of a doctor. Vomiting and even epileptic seizures cannot be ruled out, although the latter are observed extremely rarely and only in cases where the pet suffered from chronic illnesses. You can alleviate the condition of an animal in case of an overdose by washing off the remaining drug with water and shampoo and carrying out the symptomatic therapy prescribed by the veterinarian.
