“Advocate” prevents infection by ticks, fleas, nematodes and other ectoparasites. It has a wide spectrum of action, so it is quite popular among dog breeders. It contains two active ingredients:

Imidacloprid acts on the nervous system through insect receptors, stopping the transmission of nerve impulses. As a result, the parasites die pretty soon.
Moxylectin causes muscle dysfunction and paralysis, which inevitably leads to the death of arthropods.

In addition, the composition includes propylene carbonate, benzyl alcohol and other auxiliary components.

Precautions when applying the drug

Despite the fact that Lawyer is safe for human health, neglect the simplest precautions

not worth it:

The person handling the animal is recommended to wear gloves.
If the product gets on mucous membranes (eyes, mouth, etc.), you should immediately rinse these areas with water.
The processing process should be carried out in the fresh air or in a well-ventilated area, away from food, children's toys and personal hygiene products.

Terms of use

“Advocate” - drops for dogs (instructions are given here), intended for application to intact, dry skin. To process correctly, you must adhere to the following tips:

Remove the protective cap from the pipette and hold it vertically. Pierce the protective layer of the pipette tip using the back of the cap.
Part the animal's fur in a place where it cannot reach with its tongue, and apply the drug to the skin. Typically, the area chosen for treatment is at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades.
If the dog is large, then the drug should be applied in 3-4 places; when choosing, follow the same rules.

The minimum amount of the drug that must be applied is 0.1 mg per kilogram of the pet’s weight.

Overdose

Advocate Tick Drops may cause overdose if the dosage is increased. Let's list its symptoms:

oppression;
dilated pupils;
muscle tremors;
excessive salivation.

If such symptoms occur, the drug should be washed off thoroughly using a detergent.

Application and special processing requirements

If your pet is bothered by ticks or fleas, it will be enough to treat the withers once to get rid of them. It is important to maintain the dosage and not allow drops to be licked from the fur. Repeated treatment is carried out only 15-30 days after consultation with a veterinarian to avoid possible side effects.

How to treat an adult dog for fleas according to the instructions in “Advocate” drops:

Remove the disposable pipette from the blister and carefully pierce the protective membrane.

Dog breeders note that the drops are quite effective against fleas and are excellent in treating the diseases specified in the instructions. I like the fact that the drug has no odor, and that it can act as an anthelmintic. However, there are also disadvantages to the drug, in particular, there is redness of the skin at the sites of application and rare allergic reactions. The price of “Lawyer” seems too high to buyers.
