Alatar composition for wrestling
Alatar has a complex composition that contains two active ingredients and additional components. The content of excipients allows you to prolong the effect of protection.
The composition includes : two active ingredients malathion and cypermethrin; Excipients: solvent, stabilizer, antioxidants and surfactants.
Release form
Alatar is produced in a form convenient for use. The package contains a 5 ml ampoule or bottles with a capacity of 25 ml and 50 ml. The company is a supplier on the Russian market, LLC “Vashe Khozyaystvo”.
Analogs
"Alatar" has many analogues with similar and identical composition. The following drugs have a similar effect on the Colorado potato beetle:
- "Arrivo" has a similar composition to "Alatar" and has the same effect.
- "Appachi" is aimed at destroying the Colorado potato beetle. Penetrates into the body of insects when eating treated leaves and coming into contact with them.
- "Karate". A broad-spectrum insecticide, the drops linger well on the leaves and are not washed off by rain.
- "Aktara". The active substance destroys adult Colorado potato beetles and their larvae.
Alatar drug solution instructions for use
Consumption of the drug Alatar is 5 ml per 4 liters of water for the treatment of vegetable and fruit crops.
Pour 1 liter of water into a bucket, open the 5 ml ampoule, pour the drug into the bucket, mix thoroughly, then add water to the required volume and mix again. Spray early in the morning or evening.
The solution must be used within 24 hours.
The prepared pest control solution is applied evenly to the leaves on both sides using a sprayer (garden sprayer).
- It is recommended to apply at least four to six hours before rainfall.
- The optimal air temperature is 12 °C - 25 °C.
Waiting period
The active ingredients of the insecticide are extremely toxic. Therefore, ideally, processing should be done before fruit set. Some crops with thin cuticles, such as raspberries, cannot be treated with Alatar at all, after which the berries will be inedible.
If a pest invasion occurs after the fruits with a dense skin have set and threatens complete loss of the harvest, Alatar can be used no later than 20 days before harvest. In 3 weeks, the chemicals in its composition will have time to decompose to a state that is safe for humans.
However, from a safety point of view, pre-treatment with biological agents would be more reasonable. If natural remedies do not help, only then spray the fruits with Alatar.
Instructions for processing vegetable crops

Reviews
According to reviews, the main advantages of Alatar are a very wide spectrum of action and its speed; especially against poorly protected larval phases of Lepidoptera and Diptera.
Gardeners know that the caterpillars of moths and leaf rollers are capable of completely denuding a tree or bush within an hour, after which, at the very least, they will have to write off the entire harvest.
And then what is the use of drugs, after which the pests live and eat for another 2-3 hours?
In this case, the weak systemic activity of Alatar also becomes an advantage: unlike most other “instant” pesticides, individual tree and shrub fruit and berry plants can be treated with it after the ripening harvest.
Complex resistance in pests develops relatively slowly, hence another advantage of the drug - the possibility of application up to 2 times a season.
The same properties of Alatar also lead to its disadvantages:
- Alatar is extremely toxic to bees, beneficial pollinating insects and entomophages that feed on pest larvae. The presence of apiaries, wild pollinator reserves and/or entomophagous insects in the vicinity of the working area excludes the use of the drug.
- The species range of proto-berry plants for which the drug is applicable is sharply limited to crops with a fairly dense fruit cuticle. For example, it is acceptable to use Alatar from the raspberry weevil on strawberries, but not on raspberries themselves - the crop will be inedible.
- Quite a long half-life of DV in soil. As a consequence, the species range of fruits and vegetables subject to Alatar treatment is limited to crops that weakly absorb its active substances through the roots.
- High potential danger of the drug for people and warm-blooded animals due to the cumulative effect of its additives and long-term negative after-effects, incl. for the genome and fetal development in pregnant women.
- There is no reliable data on the phytotoxicity of Alatar, but it has been reliably established for both of its components when dosages and/or consumption rates are exceeded.
- Limited temperature range of effectiveness – 12-25 degrees Celsius.
- A fairly short period of protective action: no more than 10 days, most often 5-7 days.
- The protective film of the dried working solution is washed off by rain.
Note: disadvantages according to paragraphs. 6-8 cannot be considered significant, because in emergency cases of combating a massive pest invasion, they do not appear, and such invasions do not occur in too cool and hot weather.
Instructions for processing berry crops
Processed crop | Dosage | Pest | Consumption rate of the finished solution | Waiting period | Number of treatments |
Strawberries, raspberries | 5ml/4l. water | Raspberry-strawberry weevil | 3-4l./ 100 m² | 30 | 1 |
Currant | 5ml/5-6l. water | Aphids | up to 1 l. on the bush | 25 | 1 |
Gooseberry | 5ml/4l. water | Aphids, sawfly | up to 1 l. on the bush | 25 | 1 |
Alatar is used for processing berry crops once. The dosage of the drug depends on the plants. Dilute Alatar 5 ml per 4-6 liters of water according to the instructions below. It is highly effective in the fight against aphids.
Immediately after the snow melts (before the growing season begins)
The first treatment of strawberries in the spring must be carried out before the growth points on the bushes awaken.
Removing old foliage.
Strawberry plants are cleaned of the lower leaves - darkened, spotted, withered. They remove overwintering spores of infections. Only healthy-looking top leaves are left on the bushes, and if they are not there, they will soon grow back if the “heart” has successfully overwintered.
Treatment of plantation with hot water.
While the strawberry has not started to grow and is in a dormant state, it is doused with hot water from a watering can, the temperature of which should not be lower than +60 degrees and not higher than +63 degrees. It is very important to strictly observe exactly this temperature regime: the roots, horns and “hearts” of the plants will not be damaged, but a significant part of the microscopic strawberry mites, which overwinter en masse at the base of the leaf petioles, will be “cooked”. Spring treatment of strawberries with hot water also reduces the number of pathogens. This kind of “shower” is especially useful for old plantations. It is important that this method works without the use of chemicals.
Spraying with Bordeaux mixture with a concentration of 3%.
To prevent and treat fungal infections, treat the strawberry bed with a strong (3%) solution of Bordeaux mixture (according to the instructions for this chemical fungicide). Such “eradicating” spraying reduces the severity of damage by many diseases (leaf spot, gray rot of fruits, anthracnose).
Treatment with Farmayod.
Instead of Bordeaux mixture, you can use the drug Farmayod 10%, dissolving 3 ml in a bucket of warm water. This is how disinfection occurs - the destruction of overwintering pathogenic fungi.
As long as the air temperature does not exceed +15 degrees, biological fungicides (beneficial live bacteria against diseases) are ineffective. And insect pests still sleep in winter shelters, so insecticide treatments are useless.
Processing of decorative trees and flowers
Processed crop | Dosage | Pest | Consumption rate g.r. | Waiting period | Number of treatments |
Ornamental trees and shrubs, incl. conifers | 5ml/10l. water | Aphids, sawflies, plant moths, scale insects, leaf rollers, hawthorn, moths | 1-5 l. per plant depending on size | No | 1-2 |
Open ground flower crops | 5ml/3.5-4l. water | Whitefly, all types of aphids, thrips, bugs, cabbage moths | 1-2l./10 m² | No | 1 |
The prepared solution can be used to treat ornamental trees, shrubs and flowers.
Dosage of the drug Alatar 5 ml per 10 liters of water.
Release form
Alatar for controlling insects on plants of different sizes is produced in various containers. The concentrated emulsion is packaged in plastic ampoules of 5 mg. They are sold both in packs of 50 pieces and separately one at a time.
For treating large areas of plantings, Alatar is sold in 25 mg bottles. Bottles come with a regular cap and with a built-in dispenser.
Security measures
It contains two potent substances that destroy all insects and pests. For humans, the dangerous dose is 0.02 mg/kg.
Alatar may cause skin irritation if accidentally ingested.
When working with the drug, the following safety and personal protection measures must be taken:
- observe the rules of personal hygiene.
- store separately from food and medicines;
- Processing should be carried out in the absence of people and animals.
In case of drug poisoning, you should immediately consult a doctor for advice. If necessary, consult a poison control center.
- It is forbidden to use “Alatar” during flowering and near bees ( dangerous for bees - hazard class 1 ).
- Alatar is dangerous for fish. It should not be allowed to enter water bodies and water sources .
How does it work?
The drug Alatar is not only an effective, but also a fast-acting insecticide. The components of the medicine act on the nervous system of pests instantly, causing paralysis of the nervous system, and this effect extends not only to adults, but also to larvae.
By entering the insect's body and paralyzing its nervous system, Alatar makes it impossible for the pest to continue feeding.
However, it should be borne in mind that the effectiveness of pest control largely depends on the processing conditions.
Although the product contains a special adhesive that prevents the solution from being washed off the leaves, heavy rain or dew may slightly reduce its effectiveness. This feature must be taken into account when selecting processing time.
