Self-made traps are much cheaper than purchased ones. You shouldn’t expect the same effective work from them, but no one forbids you to try to make a device.
The simplest design is made from an ordinary plastic bottle with a volume of 1.5–2 liters. The bait is a mixture of sugar, yeast and water. They need to be stirred constantly until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Another recipe is 300 g of resin from any coniferous tree, 150 ml of linseed oil, 50 g of liquid honey, 10 g of wax. Or 400 g of rosin, half as much petroleum jelly, half as much honey and 40 ml of glycerin. The glue is prepared in all cases according to the same principle.

Everything is true, except for drying out. Mosquitoes do not dry out on a humid night near Moscow. And they bear it quite cheerfully. Maybe in China they are dried, but ours, as I already noted, are incorrect.
